Grizzlies Win!

Needing a lift following a depressing, one-point loss to the Los Angeles Lakers the night before, the Memphis Grizzlies got what they were looking for in a 99-94 victory over the Washington Wizards in the Verizon Center on Wednesday night.
When asked what it was that pushed the Grizzlies to this victory: “The key was our bench,” Griz center Marc Gasol said. “The bench deserves a lot of credit for this one.”
This win solidifies what I have always believed; without a firm support system, you are almost destined to either hit a snag in the road or fail. This is true in many, many situations. Whether it’s a relationship that you’re in, or it’s a business deal that you’re trying to conduct; you can’t do everything alone.
The bench support that the Grizzlies gained also helps them to play more as a team. Though they may not have had a great season, they are building strong foundations to secure more wins in the futures.
Tip-ins: Memphis has won its last three road games. The Grizzlies have won their last four against the Wizards, sweeping the series for the second straight season. … Hollins improved to 5-0 all-time in games he’s coached against the Wizards. … Washington newcomer Josh Howard didn’t play and will miss the rest of the season with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament.
How do you feel about the Grizzlies this season?
Destination Weddings: Destination = Apple Store??

When I think of destination weddings, I’m thinking of exotic, beautiful resorts like the Bahamas, Hawaii, or Jamaica. Not an electronics store, but hey, that’s just me.
This Valentine’s Day, an Apple-obsessed couple tied the knot at New York’s Fifth Avenue Apple Store in a ceremony that referenced Steve Jobs, boasted a first generation iPod as a ring bearer and was officiated by a priest decked out like Jobs himself.
Now, I love Apple and all of the techy-goodness that they have to offer, but I don’t love them enough to have my wedding in an Apple store! I bet Steve Jobs didn’t know that his products were THIS influential.
Now, I know that many people often celebrate the anniversary of their first date by going back to the place that the date took place. These two took it to the extreme. The bride, Ting Le was looking for an iPod and the groom, Josh struck up a conversation with her regarding it. It’s cute, sweet, and geeky all at the same time.
What more could you ask for?
What about you? Would you get married in a chain store? Leave your answers in the comments!
Looking for Travel Bargains this Spring?
Are you as tired of this winter weather as I am? Well, why not start looking for the perfect spring getaway? Right now, many vacation centric locations are offering pretty good deals.
For example, Jamaica has increased air service and affordable prices to keep a steady stream of visitors sun kissed and happy. Even hotels around the island are boasting lower rates.
Panama City Beach in Florida has always been a personal favorite of mine, since I’ve been there numerous times. Luxurious beaches, clear blue weather, and just a hint of salt in the air. It’s so relaxing! Delta will connect Panama City with Atlanta and Memphis, to make the commute a bit easier on snow weary travelers. The lower rates and easier commute is sure to bring a boat load of tourists this Spring. When you’re comparing prices on accommodations, be sure to check vacation rentals in addition to traditional hotel and resort options. Look for free nights, spring specials, and other sales on lodging by entering your vacation date on the Panama City Beach tourism website.
I think that Panama City may be my vacay of choice, especially since it’s within my price range

Most Directors Turn a Book into a Film, but not James Cameron…

Cameron went the opposite route. Instead of turning a book into a film, he’s turning a film into a book. With the immense success that his blockbuster hit “Avatar” has had, one has to wonder how much more success and glory one could get!
The infamous director states that the book won’t necessarily be a prequel, but more of a “vehicle to give even more detail to the movie”, and that “the plot line would follow along “quite closely” but would also include deeper character development through interior monologue”.
I’m not entirely sure how well the book will captivate audience AFTER seeing “Avatar”, but I’m always up for a good read. What about you? Would you read the book, or do you just want the “Avatar” craze to be over?
